Audlem Food and Drink Festival

Information for Stallholders

The Audlem Special Events Team (ASET) invites you to take a stall at the Audlem Food and Drink Festival in 2012. This one day event will be held on the Sunday of the Audlem Beer Festival weekend – Sunday 26th August 2011.

Situated on the playing fields in the heart of Audlem, the Food and Drink Festival has space for approximately 75 specialty food and drink stalls offering a range of different specialty food types including breads, meats, dairy produce, confectionery, snacks, oils and sauces but avoid (wherever possible) directly competing vendors.

The centrepiece of the festival will be a series of cooking demonstrations by renowned local chefs thus attracting visitors to return to the event throughout the day.

This is a great opportunity for you to reach many new customers. Last year, on the same weekend, the Beer Festival attracted an estimated 3000 people and we anticipate that the addition of the Food Festival will swell those numbers considerably in 2012.

The Beer and Food Festivals will be heavily marketed throughout the area with multiple adverts in local newspapers, a leaflet drop to 10,000 households, roadside advertising, email direct mailings, dedicated event pages on the ASET web site and features in local papers.

Prices for stallholders are:

  • Pitch only (approx3mx3m): £20 (bring your own stall)
  • Pitch and hire of stall (approx3mx3m): £38 (limited number available)
  • Larger pitches are available: Price on enquiry, based on size of stall required.

Please note that because this is an outdoor event we are unable to provide power.

If you don’t know Audlem then you will be amazed. Frequently featured on national television for its vibrancy, this beautiful rural village on the Shropshire/Cheshire/Staffordshire border punches well above its weight. A winner of several regional and national awards, the village hosts several long running events of the highest quality throughout the year:

  • Music and Arts Festival (in its 11th year, featuring over 150 bands over the May bank holiday weekend)
  • Audlem Carnival
  • Fun-ky Audlem (sports and activities for children)
  • Midsummer Music and Proms in the Park (in its 11th year - attracting audiences of 1500 annually)
  • Festival of Transport (in its 11th year - attracting 300 vintage vehicles and over 3000 visitors annually)
  • Beer Festival
  • Bonfire and Fireworks (in its 12th year - attracting over 4000 visitors annually)

Have a look at the village web site.

The Audlem Special Events Team is a not-for-profit organisation established 12 years ago to manage several annual events “in the village, for the village”. Through the years the events have grown in popularity and today they draw crowds from an extensive catchment area including the towns of Crewe, Nantwich, Whitchurch, Market Drayton, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke on Trent. Renowned for the quality and affordability of events, ASET has an excellent reputation in the area. The Audlem Food Festival is the latest addition to the ASET and Audlem events calendar.

If you are interested in taking a stall at the Food Festival then here’s what you have to do:

By 18th Jan 2012 - Contact the ASET team by email (info@audlem-aset.org) expressing your interest in attending the event and stating whether you require pitch only or pitch and stall. Please also indicate the type of foods you wish to sell. (Please note that, to avoid competing with the local pubs and cafes, food and drink should not be sold for immediate consumption.)

By 17th Feb 2012 - You will receive confirmation by email from ASET, indicating that you have been successful in your request to attend the Food Festival. Stalls will be allocated based on achieving a good range and mix of produce, avoiding competing stalls wherever possible.

By 27th April 2012 - Please send payment for the full amount (£20 or £38) and photocopies of Food Hygiene and Insurance certificates to secure your pitch. If certificates and payment have not been received by 30th June then your pitch may be offered to another stallholder. As soon as payment has been received you will receive a confirmation email from ASET.

By 27th July 2012 - ASET will email final confirmation of details for the event.

Sun 26th August - Set-up will begin at 8am, gates will open to public at 10am.

We hope that you will join us in August for this unique opportunity to reach a new market. Please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01270 811211 or info@audlem-aset.org if you would like more information.
